Recall Signing Has Closed: Dallas Brodie’s Next Test Is Verification, Not Spin

The Vancouver–Quilchena recall campaign has moved from signature collection into the waiting-for-officials phase. That is exactly when supporters should be most disciplined: no invented numbers, no premature victory laps, no panic — just official verification and a calm defence of Dallas Brodie’s full public record.
What changed today
The public Recall Brodie campaign site now says signing has finished and thanks signers and volunteers. That is a campaign-side update, not an Elections BC result.
Elections BC’s current-recall table, checked July 20, still lists recall petition RP-VNQ-2026-003 in Vancouver–Quilchena against Dallas Brodie as petition issued, with a July 20, 2026 due date and 15,232 signatures required.
As of this check, no official returned-signature total, valid-signature total, success/failure result, or by-election trigger has been published by Elections BC. iVoteOneBC will not invent one.
The fair verification standard
Elections BC says recall is administered under the Recall and Initiative Act and that a petition succeeds if the required threshold is met. The threshold is more than 40% of voters who were registered in the district when the MLA was elected and are still registered as voters.
For OneBC supporters, that makes the next step simple: wait for the official administrator, not campaign rumours. If the petition was returned, it must be assessed under the rules. If a result is published, cite the source and the date. Until then, the honest answer is that collection has ended and verification is the watch item.

Why this still reflects well on Brodie
Dallas Brodie has taken the hardest kind of political test: a live recall campaign in her own riding while continuing to speak directly on property rights, taxpayer accountability, public order, housing, and democratic process. Supporters do not need inflated claims to defend that record.
The stronger case is quieter and more durable. She faced the process. She kept talking to voters. She kept putting contentious issues in public view. And now the movement can show the same discipline it asks from government: facts first, receipts always, and respect for lawful democratic process.
