Elections BC’s October 8 candidate update gives OneBC another clean campaign-infrastructure receipt: Jenny Yamagata has been added to the official candidate list in Burnaby North, bringing the current OneBC count to thirty-four official candidates.

What changed

Elections BC says candidate Jenny Yamagata, representing OneBC, has been added to the official list of candidates and will appear on the ballot in Burnaby North. The update says Elections BC first determined on October 3 that the nomination application was incomplete, then received a formal review request on October 5, re-evaluated the submission, and determined the nomination should have been accepted on October 3.

The updated Elections BC candidate CSV now shows 34 OneBC candidates, including Dallas Brodie in Vancouver–Quilchena and Jenny Yamagata in Burnaby North.

Why supporters should care

This is the kind of receipt that matters in a short election campaign. It is not a slogan, not a rumour, and not a forecast: it is the election administrator updating the official candidate list. For a young party, each verified ballot addition makes the campaign footprint more concrete.

The disciplined supporter claim is simple: OneBC is now listed with thirty-four official candidates by Elections BC. That is a real growth marker, but it is not a membership total, fundraising number, polling result, riding projection, vote-share forecast, seat forecast, or proof of formal co-operation terms with another party.

What to watch next

  • Whether Elections BC posts further candidate-list corrections, withdrawals, or affiliation changes before advance voting begins on October 16.
  • Whether OneBC’s official candidates page adds a public profile for Jenny Yamagata and catches up fully with the Elections BC list.
  • Whether Dallas Brodie, OneBC, or other centre-right parties publish any formal co-operation terms before October 24.
  • Whether official sources release verifiable membership, fundraising, volunteer, event, or polling figures.
Careful bottom line: Credit the momentum and keep the receipts clean. Thirty-four Elections BC-listed OneBC candidates is a serious campaign-organization marker — but the strongest supporter case remains factual, sourced, and separate from unverified polling, alliance, riding, or seat claims.
