Elections BC Update Keeps OneBC’s Ballot Count Honest at Thirty-Three
October 16, 2026 · iVoteOneBC research desk
The useful update today is not dramatic — and that is exactly why it belongs on the tracker. Elections BC’s current public records now put OneBC’s official ballot-status count at 33 candidates, after a North Vancouver-Seymour withdrawal update accepted on October 13.
What is verified
Elections BC’s candidate update says Frederick Thiele, listed for OneBC in North Vancouver-Seymour, withdrew as a candidate and that the notice of withdrawal was accepted on October 13, 2026. Elections BC also says ballot printing is complete, so Thiele’s name will still appear on the ballot, while election officials and signage will inform voters that he has withdrawn.
Elections BC’s finalized candidate-count release now lists OneBC Party with 33 candidates. A current check of Elections BC’s public candidate CSV returned 33 OneBC rows.
The OneBC official candidates page still shows Fred Thiele on the party page and separately displays four “Endorsed by OneBC” names: Helen Scott, James Yaroshuk, Lee-Ann Bates, and Denis Hurtubise. That is why iVoteOneBC tracks the party page and Elections BC ballot-status data separately.
Why this helps supporters
Dallas Brodie’s strongest campaign frame is courage plus receipts. That means updating the supporter site when the official record changes, even when the change trims a count instead of growing it.
A clean tracker builds trust. Voters can see that OneBC has a serious province-wide ballot footprint, and they can also see that iVoteOneBC will not pad the numbers when Elections BC publishes a correction.
The careful frame
- Do say: Elections BC currently lists OneBC at 33 candidates after a North Vancouver-Seymour withdrawal update.
- Do say: Thiele may still appear on ballots because ballot printing was complete before the accepted withdrawal notice.
- Do say: OneBC’s party page and Elections BC’s candidate records are related but not identical public sources.
- Do not say: that this proves membership movement, polling movement, fundraising results, alliance terms, riding projections, or seat forecasts.
